2020 Recap, 2021 Goals

I typically make a yearly recap video on my YouTube channel but honestly I don’t have many clips of anything this past year. For a lot of us, 2020 was really rough but it also taught us how to appreciate all the little things we took for granted. We miss traveling the world. We miss eating out. We miss being surrounded by our loved ones. As a content creator, what I post are “highlight reels”, but in reality, that’s truly just a fraction of my life. Part of me regrets not filming more. I wish I documented how the world and I were able to adapt to all the ups and downs 2020 brought into our lives. But what’s done is done. I’m forever thankful to have survived last year safely and in good health.

In 2020, I learned a lot about how my mindset really creates the reality I live in. I realized that I would dwell a lot in the negative things in my life. From not doing well in school, struggling with figuring out what to do with my career, and all of the friendship/relationship bumps in between, I would just focus on the bad. I always forgot to look at the positive things that was happening in my life. Just like life before 2020, I really didn’t want to take anything for granted.

One of the best decisions I made last year was investing in myself and taking Jasmine Lipska’s Blissful Soul Program which focused on transforming my relationship with myself and attract better into my life. Throughout this program, I’ve learned to be more calm and really process the little details around me. Especially with all the stresses the pandemic had caused, learning to be more intuitive and patient really helped me get through the year. My favorite lesson learned was that the universe doesn’t give me the ideas of my goals and dreams, if I wasn’t capable of them. I still carry this on with me everyday since. It’s reignited this confidence and reminded me that “I CAN”. I had the biggest mindset shift as I started expressing more gratitude and positivity into my everyday life.

Here are 5 of my new 2021 goals:

ONE: Consistently post on my Instagram, YouTube, and blog.

This will be a continuous goal each year. Although I didn’t hit my goal last year of growing to 5k on Instagram and YouTube, I know this year will be a year of growth and success across all my platforms.

TWO: Be by own boss and grow my income through brand collaborations, digital product sales, and consulting program.

My ultimate career goal is do do content creation full-time and build a business out of it.

One thing I really worked on last year was improving my pitching skills when working with brands. I focused a lot on how to prove my worth to a brand and what services I can do for them. Before the end of the 2020, I was able to negotiate a long-term paid brand collaboration for 2021! This alone really boosted my confidence to pitch to more brands and bring in bigger income for the new year.

I’ve always wanted to sell some sort of product. In the future, I definitely want to design a physical product but for now, I’ve decided to kick off the new year by creating digital calendar wallpapers that can be used for phones or computer desktop. You can shop my digital products here.

My last business venture of 2021 is to begin social media management and consulting. From algorithms, predicting new trends, branding, and collaborations, I’m such a nerd for anything related to digital marketing and social media. I know I have so much knowledge to share about the industry and I want to help educate and guide new creators to really growing across their platforms as well! I want to share with everyone that you don’t need a huge following to generate income through social media.

THREE: Move out on my parents’ home and live independently.

I turned 26 at the end of last year and my age definitely hit me this time around. Not that I’m necessarily “old” but I’ve been living with my family even through my college years and there are still a lot of experiences I want to have before I decide to settle down. One of those is moving out and living on my own. I think leaving this comfort zone will really push me to be more independent and build my confidence with decision making.

FOUR: Stop worrying about what I can’t control.

With all the anxiety that the pandemic brought up, I was in my head a lot. This brought in a lot of negative thoughts and I began to spiral down in my thoughts and at one point, I just knew there was a lot of inner work that needed to be done. Once most of the year had went by and many plans were cancelled, I learned that that was all I really could do. I was pushed to really let go of everything that I couldn’t control. I learned to just go with the flow and stay positive. With the plans of 2021 still up in the air, I want to carry this with me to just accept and adapt to whatever comes next.

FIVE: Continue to journal regularly and fall back in love with myself.

As I mentioned in my 2020 goals, I wanted to journal more about the things that make me happy rather than only when I felt frustrated. Looking back, it was interesting to see how my mindset had changed from the beginning to end of the year. I want to continue to document my growth through journaling and manifestations.

Throughout the Blissful Soul Program, I realized there was a lot of necessary inner healing that needed to be done. There was a lot of self criticism that I kept with me even from my childhood. One thing I wanted to continue working on this year is re-building my self confidence and self love. I felt I was more fearless in my younger teen years and I began to get overly conscious of every move I made. I want to feel even stronger and more confident in my actions and decisions.

2021 still feels just as unpredictable and uncertain as last year but for the first time, I feel somewhat calm and oh so ready for what’s to come. I’m ready for change. I know I deserve change and all the great, beautiful abundance that is coming for me.
