Falling in Love with Nature
Today marks my 2 year anniversary with Kenny. Instead of going into a mushy-gushy post about how much we love each other, I'm going to share some photos to one of our recent camping trips to Lake Cachuma in Santa Barbara.
If you know me, I am probably one of the girliest girls you ever met. (Okay, a very simple girly girl.) Before Kenny and I started dating, I would never really call myself an "outdoors" type of girl. For one point being that I hate being under the sun. I'm just very sensitive to heat. I get heat rashes, my face turns as red as a tomato, and I get sunburned very easily. Now this makes me almost completely opposite to Kenny who just loves the outdoors. He's the type would save his money to be the next coolest gear or even buy the nicest camera equipment, all to bring it with him the next chance he gets. (Actually there was one time he set up his tent in the back yard and would hangout in there too.)
Kenny's love for the outdoors brings a balance to my "Princess Lifestyle". He's helped me experience and find love in nature. I actually look forward to our seasonal camping trips. I love the idea of being unplugged from our very technology-driven, social world. I get the chance to gather my thoughts and enjoy the simplest pleasures that the world has to offer.
I didn't vlog this trip. This was one of those times where in really just wanted to be with nature. 2017 has been just a jumble of opportunities and emotions. Being outdoors and unplugged really helps me sort my thoughts and plans for the future. I encourage you all to do the same. Get outside even if it's just for a quick walk or a hike. Give your body those few minutes of fresh air and peace of mind.

Back in 2016, I promised myself I would start saying "Yes" to all the new adventures. For years I lived with this mentality that being comfortable meant that I was safe and happy. Thanks to you I've learned there's so much more to the world. Forever thankful to have you in my life.
